Feeding Puppies

Since the pups don't take to the bottle, I decided to make them some mush. I don't usually do it before 3 weeks old but decided to give it a try. There was a huge mess but some did take to it and got some kibble mixed with goat milk and water inside. Will give it a try again this afternoon. It is blowing like crazy today. Hank worked on the raised bed this a.m. He'll be glad when it is done. Let Sam out of his pen to enjoy some freedom.

RR Ties

Today Hank went to Tucson to get more R.R. ties for the raised garden. It was almost 90 there. We are expecting a windy rest of the week with cooler temps. The vegies we planted so far as doing great. Puppies are growing and enjoying some nice one on one time with mom before someone comes to look at them in 2 weeks on mother's day. Hope they love the merle girls.

Planting Time

Today we started planting some vegies. We did cukes, chard, and squash. Also have strawberries on the plants. Hank worked on the raised garden and loaded up the railroad ties on each other. It was nice and warm so the plants should do well. Puppies are opening their eyes and getting the hang of the bottle.

Sunday

Today Hank tilled up the big garden and dug the trenches for planting. It was really nice; not cold a.m. He also made the trenches for the watering and tilled the weeds around the fruit trees. We are looking forward to peaches, plums and other fruit.

Nice Weekend

We are done with our rain and want to get the weekend underway. Need to pull some weeds and check on the berries. They have lots of flowers on and some green fruit. Also the fruit trees have green fruit and need a final weeding. We are probably done with rain for awhile. Summer is around the corner. The puppies need to be fed. They are doing much better with the bottle and eager to drink. Elizabeth has goats so we get milk from her and mix a cup with a egg yoke for puppies. Yum.

Rain

It is raining this morning. Snow is on the mountains. We really nice it. The puppies are doing good and enjoying some heat. It was cold last night so we put a fire in the stove. Feels good this morning. Time to get ready for summer vegetables and the growing season.

Sad Day

Today we attended Bud's funeral. It was a very moving service but hard to sit through. He was such a kind man and we will miss him. The pups are growing and seem to be more busy. They are trying to stand on their front legs. It was very windy in the afternoon and rained on us a little.

Puppies are One Week Old

Hard to believe the puppies are one week old today. They are getting so cute. Some have decided they want mom and not the bottle. Have to out think them to get them to take it this morning. I took a video of them this afternoon. They photograph so well but need individual pages. Filled out and sent in paperwork for their AKC and ASCA registration.

Tails and Dewclaws

Today the 11 puppies are going in for tails and dewclaws.
